About

Hi, I’m Luis, a designer who
thinks in user first.

Luis Quintero is a product, UX and UI designer based in Colombia, with seven years of experience across editorial, agency and product teams. He designs web and mobile products, and carries the work from the research question through to the interface engineers build.

In short

  • Product, UX and UI designer based in Colombia, currently available.
  • Started in journalism, and still designs by asking the better question first.
  • Seven years and five teams: Flimp, Wynwood House, DDB, Imagine Apps and Universidad de los Andes.
  • Works across product design, visual and brand, research and strategy, tools, code and languages.
  • At his best when design, engineering and writing share the same room and the same document.

I started in journalism, long interviews, fact-checking late into the night, and trying to make complicated things feel obvious. That training is still the foundation of how I design today: ask better questions, then make the answer as short as it honestly can be.

Today I lead product design on medium, opinionated teams, most recently across fintech (Yield), mobility (Leasy) and developer tools (Flimp). I work best when design, engineering and writing live in the same room and the same document.

Outside of work, I study engineering design and motion design, cook quite a bit, collect short courses, and walk around the city during golden hour with a film camera. I also play video games and spend a lot of time looking at art.
