Travel apps optimise for doing more: longer lists, denser maps, a scoreboard of sights to tick off. The result is a city experienced through a screen, at a sprint. We wanted the opposite, a guide that slows you down and helps you notice one place properly.
The hard part was restraint. How do you make an app feel generous while showing far less at once?
We commissioned local writers and built city-specific maps that surface a single neighbourhood at a time. Each entry reads like a short letter from someone who lives there, paired with a walking distance and a reason to linger. No ratings, no queues, no “popular nearby”.
Typography carries the calm: long-form serif for the writing, a quiet mono for wayfinding, and generous white space that asks you to read before you move.
“For the first time I came home from a trip remembering a street, not a checklist.”
